The HQ or retail headquarters is a facility created in the 1.7.0 Update. It is a support facility for your retail store(s). It provides the ability to use commands that work with your retail stores. For example; add/ remove retail products, adjust product sell price. Only one of this building type is required to manage retail stores, no matter what region the retail stores are in.

Headquarters (commonly referred to as HQ) denotes the location where most, if not all, of the important functions of an organization are coordinated. In the United States, the corporate headquarters represents the entity at the center or the top of a corporation taking full responsibility for managing all business activities. In the United Kingdom, the term head office is most commonly used for the headquarters of large corporations.
