Silicon is an asset extracted from the region using Silicon mines. The silicon can be processed into other assets or sold. Very highly purified elemental silicon is used in semiconductor electronics (< 10%) is essential to the metal–oxide–silicon (MOS) transistors and integrated circuit chips used in most modern technology (such as computers and cell phones, for example).
Facilities that use Silicon
Name | Cost | Inputs | Outputs |
---|---|---|---|
CCD factory | $69,000 | 6x silicon | 1x CCD |
Glass factory | $80,000 | 2x silicon | 8x glass |
CPU factory | $100,000 | 8x silicon, 1x gold | 6x CPU |
